Updated Juniper Networks Certification Program Emphasizes Junos and Offers New Certification Tracks to Align With Key Industry Segments

SUNNYVALE, CA, Oct 05, 2011 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --

Juniper Networks (NYSE: JNPR), the industry leader in network innovation, today announced significant updates to its training portfolio and the Juniper Networks(R) Certification Program (JNCP). The updates include new training curricula and certification tracks focused on Junos(R), Juniper Networks' high-performance networking operating system for routing, switching and security, which aligns to the core market segments that Juniper operates within.

Specifically launched are the Service Provider Routing and Switching, Enterprise Routing and Switching, and Junos Security tracks. These segment-specific tracks have multi-tiered certifications with supporting training curriculum. The new tracks enable networking professionals to develop and validate the skills that are aligned with industry usage of Juniper Networks' portfolio of products and solutions.

Instead of focusing on particular products, Juniper Networks wanted to concentrate its training on "how" individuals best manage multiple products within real-world networking environments. The re-architected curriculum concentrates on the technical skills required in how Juniper's products are used within these three market segments.

"Our goal in realigning the Juniper Networks Certification Program was to ensure that the courses and certifications we offer match the skills and needs of customers building today's new, high-performance networks," said Linda Moss, Ph. D; sr. director, WW Education Services, Juniper Networks.

"Moving through the Juniper Networks Certification Program has advanced my career significantly, particularly the new Junos tracks," said Kurt Bales, chief technology officer, eintellego Pty Ltd. "More importantly, I encourage all members of my team to become Juniper Networks certified. The knowledge and experience gained by working through the new segment-specific curriculum and certifications enables them to work more effectively and efficiently, creating relevant solutions."

By maintaining a continued focus on the skills needed in the marketplace, the JNCP has seen dynamic and consistent growth over the last three years, both from students in academia as well as those working in IT departments in the technology industry. As the demand for Juniper Networks solutions increases, the JNCP offers networking professionals increased visibility and career opportunities in the market place.
