SUNNYVALE, CA, May 19, 2011 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Juniper Networks (NYSE: JNPR) today announced the appointment of Mercedes Johnson, former Avago Technologies Limited senior vice president and chief financial officer, to its board of directors. Johnson brings more than 20 years of financial leadership and corporate management experience to Juniper Networks.

Prior to Avago Technologies, Johnson served as senior vice president and chief financial officer at Lam Research Corporation. Johnson is a graduate of the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina with a degree in accounting.

Johnson has also been appointed to the board's Audit Committee.
